WWE TLC went down last Sunday, but Vince McMahon and Triple H were not there. This is a rarity that both of them would miss a WWE pay-per-view, but they had other people to take over the responsibilities.

Triple H was needed in Orlando for NXT duties. Vince McMahon was also pulled away, but it was likely for XFL reasons. The rebooted football league is set for a 2020 relaunch.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Vince McMahon did call before the show. This is when he went over everything to give his final approval. Then Bruce Prichard and Paul Heyman operated the show as it was live.

Vince may have been at fault for the show itself, since he went over everything by phone before the show started, but not for how this incident was handled. Paul Heyman and Bruce Prichard were the guys running the matches backstage, along with the agents.

WWE TLC 2019 will be remembered for a lot of things other than WWE’s final pay-per-view of the decade. The main event match also featured a pretty scary communication issue when Kairi Sane was injured. At least Vince McMahon had people to take care of the situation when he wasn’t there.
