Rey Mysterio On Paul Heyman’s ‘Genius Behind The Curtain’

Paul Heyman stood at ringside and watched his client Brock Lesnar retain the WWE Title at Survivor Series. He had so much to do with that entire situation than just playing the role he did during the match.

TalkSport recently spoke to Rey Mysterio where he opened up about who really deserves credit for his Survivor Series match versus Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman is far more backstage in WWE than just Brock Lesnar’s Advocate. He is also the RAW Executive Director and he played an instrumental part in building that entire program.

“I think, to be honest, to give someone credit for all of that, it would be Paul Heyman. We have to give credit to the geniuses behind the curtain and the ones that come up with the storylines and whatnot. I want to say since Paul Heyman took over RAW, the writing team has given a lot of opportunities to names that weren’t being used and I think that has to do with a combination of Paul and his team that he works around.”

There are several segments on WWE television every week with his fingerprints on them. RAW might not always consist of the most riveting television, but the build to Brock Lesnar’s title defense against Rey Mysterio was built in a very personal way by design.
