Mustafa Ali decided not to work as a heel because he didn’t want to further drive home the message that Arabs should be bad guys. He wants to fight that stereotype, but one fan apparently saw a problem with that.

One fan threw a judging tweet in Ali’s direction. He said that nobody embraces heels anymore when comparing it to why Mustafa Ali decided to work as a babyface. This brought a response from Ali that this fan might not have expected.

Sorry. I prioritized real life concerns of hate crimes against people of my ethnicity and didn’t want to reinforce negative stereotypes over your entertainment. How foolish of me.

If Mustafa Ali had a mic to drop after sending out that tweet he probably would have dropped that mic. We’ll have to see where 2020 takes Mustafa Ali in WWE, but he admitted that 2019 didn’t turn out as expected.
