Goldberg’s streak in WWE came out of nowhere. It was organic and before they knew it, Goldberg had the hottest thing in pro wrestling going for him.
That streak eventually ended, but as he revealed on the Broken Skull Sessions, it wasn’t that big of a deal to him. He didn’t get too political with things at the time. Goldberg was only doing what was asked him.
When he lost his first match, it might have meant a lot to fans. To Goldberg, it was just a loss.
“Honestly, at that point in my life I just looked at it like a loss. I didn’t big picture it by any means because I didn’t know a whole lot about the business and the more you analyze stuff the more it pisses you off because ‘Oh, it happened this way because of this and you know the front office is going this way and it’s being run by these guys.’ I didn’t want to lobotomize myself I did enough as it is so I didn’t know enough to pass judgement and realize anything, I just didn’t.”
Goldberg admitted that his loss needed to happen at some point. He also said that going through so may different situations like this only made him wiser to the business. Now he might deal with things a little differently, but every streak needs to end eventually.
