WWE has a lot of properties and names for events that they don’t use any more. They recently applied for a huge load of old WCW and ECW event names as well.

WWE New Year’s Revolution was first introduced in 2005 and the last event was held in 2007. The name didn’t last very long, but the company is bringing it back as the name for their next tour.

PW Insider reports that WWE New Year’s Revolution Tour is set to kick off very soon. This will last until early January. It is very interesting that WWE is bringing back this name.

We’ll have to see if WWE brings back the actual New Year’s Revolution event name. Sometimes an entity needs to use a property in order to maintain a copyright. We’re not certain as to the reason for bringing back this event name, but it will probably be a nice throwback for fans who can catch those tour dates.
