WWE is always looking to own as much pro wrestling property as possible. On the other hand, Cody Rhodes is also on a mission to own as much of his father’s work as he can. It looks like this rush for nostalgia has caused WWE to snatch up a lot of trademarks.
PW Insider reports that WWE applied for a ton of trademarks on December 6th. Those trademarks include Souled Out, Greed, Living Dangerously, Sin, World War 3 and more.
We’ll have to see how WWE uses those names or whether they are just adding them to Vince McMahon’s collection of intellectual property.
WWE applied to trademark the following on 12/6:
FULLY LOADED
LIVING DANGEROUSLY
HEAT WAVE
ANARCHY RULZ
WORLD WAR 3
CHI-TOWN RUMBLE
SIN
SOULED OUT
NEW BLOOD RISING
HOG WILD
CAPITAL COMBAT
ROAD WILD
GREED
UNCENSORED
SPRING STAMPEDE
THE DAY OF
MAYHEM
BEACH BLAST
MASSACRE ON 34TH STREET
HARDCORE HEAVEN
EAT SLEEP CONQUER REPEAT
There are a lot of different things that WWE could do with any number of those names. The important part to WWE is that they own them so nobody else can use them.
We previously reported that WWE filed a copyright for Brock Lesnar’s catchphrase, but it appears that Vince McMahon’s company is locking down a lot more.
