WWE has a few Superstars on their roster who want out of the company. That doesn’t mean that they will be granted those releases.

There is a report going around supposedly said by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live saying that WWE is planning on releasing Superstars next year. He made a very special point on Friday’s episode to address this rumor. He wanted to make it clear that he never said that there would be releases in 2020.

Dave Meltzer did previously mention on Wrestling Observer Radio that there is some internal pressure in WWE to grant those releases. He said that people within in WWE have argued to release Superstars, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

“You know I don’t know there’s different schools of thought. There’s a school of thought that all these guys who wanna leave that are there [in WWE] and they really are not [happy] that it really kinda just hurts morale and it’s just better to let them go.”

“You know, they’re not letting people go. I know people who have argued to let people go, but they’re not letting anyone go still. So, until they do you know all these guys, man.”

“Be quiet, be you know, be… it’s easy for me to say. There’s a time for that — now for the guys who signed a five-year contract now and three months later they wanna go [like Mike Kanellis] that’s a bad situation that I can’t help you with, because that was… you know don’t sign five-year deals if you think you’re gonna be unhappy.”

Brad Shepard later reported that there is talk within WWE to release some Superstars in 2020.

We’ll have to wait and see what WWE wants to do. They don’t seem to be inclines to grant releases due to the competitive nature of the pro wrestling landscape. They did let Super ACH go, but that was a much different set of circumstances.
