AEW’s Inner Circle has been pretty much exclusively running the show over on Dynamite over the course of the last month, to the point where fans are starting to believe that they’re a really solid faction as opposed to a group of guys who have just been thrown together for the sake of making Chris Jericho look strong.
Alas, with any great heel faction comes the need for a top quality babyface, and that’s exactly what Dustin Rhodes is. Sure, he may be in the twilight of his career, but he’s still putting in great performances every single time he steps into the ring.
Rhodes continues to go after the Inner Circle in an attempt to bring them down, and according to the man himself, that isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
Rhodes has been around in this business for a long time now and he knows how to get his own back on heels in the most effective manner possible. While he may not ascend to the heights of challenging for the AEW World Championship, it almost feels as if he doesn’t need to.
He’s in a comfortable role as the veteran helping to run the show and bring Dynamite back from the brink of collapse (in a storyline sense), and there are plenty of great guys he can work with outside of the main event scene.
With that being said, the idea of Jericho vs Dustin for a world title in 2020 sounds like a bizarrely fun thing to experience.
