Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler trained together for years and got very close. They watched pro wrestling and became part of the Four Horsewomen along with Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke. Rousey arrived in WWE after Baszler made a mark in NXT, but that didn’t stop comparisons from being made.
While speaking to After The Bell, Shayna Baszler described her feelings toward being compared to the Baddest Woman On The Planet.
“So we’ve always had to deal with being associated. Whether right or wrong, our success, our failures just because she is more well-known than the other three of us might have been. If anyone talked about us it was only because of her.”
“It was just something that we had to learn to just shrug off, and I think the four of us supportive of each other we genuinely take pleasure when one of us gets any success. We have, we’re friends, so we have some friendly banter here and there about who’s done what and all that, but it’s not, nobody’s pretending anybody’s cooler than anybody else.”
“It’s kinda fun, I mean who doesn’t want their friends at work with them?”
Fans are still waiting to see Ronda Rousey make her return, but in the meantime, she will be cheering her friends on as she watches from home at Browsey Acres.
