Bayley made a surprise return to NXT last night in order to attack NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler ahead of their crunch Survivor Series triple threat match which will also feature ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch.
It was a pretty clear statement from one of the most exciting new heels in the company, following in the footsteps of The OC who also made a trip down to NXT in order to let them know what they’re all about.
There are so many different directions this can go in and with Survivor Series being right around the corner, it just seems as if we’re still a week or two away from this storyline really hitting its peak.
As opposed to being frustrated about the whole situation, The Game seems to be taking it in his stride and almost no selling the fact that some of his NXT stars are being attacked by members of the main roster from RAW and SmackDown.
Whether or not that is the best tactic remains to be seen but in many ways, Survivor Series will serve as the ultimate test of how Vince McMahon actually views NXT. Are they a legitimate alternative to RAW and SD, or will they always be a step below in the eyes fo the hierarchy?
Baszler is hardly going to be happy about this turn of events, but at the very least, she’s still being viewed as the favourite to win the blockbuster match – which is saying a lot given the star power involved.
