As seen on Sky Bet, the betting odds for CM Punk’s potential WrestleMania 36 opponent have been released.
The return of Punk to WWE programming on WWE Backstage certainly has an awful lot of people talking, with the overriding belief from many being that Punk will indeed step foot back inside the squared circle for a match sooner rather than later.
There seems to be an endless list of stars who are interested in the possibility of squaring off against the former UFC star, as you can probably imagine.
At this moment in time the favourite to potentially welcome Punk back to the ring is Triple H at odds of 9/2. Brock Lesnar is a distant 6/1 after that with the top five being rounded off by Rey Mysterio 7/1, John Cena 8/1 and Roman Reigns 8/1.
It doesn’t really feel, to us, like it’s going to happen, mainly because he hasn’t been in the ring for so long now. We’ve all obviously been conditioned to say never say never of course, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be somewhat skeptical.
Punk has never really been on particularly great terms with Triple H either, and after the manner in which he left, we don’t think he’d want to give The Game the satisfaction of getting in the ring with him.
Perhaps that’s a little bit unfair, but obviously we all know the potential that storyline has – it’s just a case of whether or not Punk would feel like WWE is ‘winning’ if they were able to lure him back into the ring again.
