CM Punk seems to be softening his stance on pro wrestling. Now he says that he’s always been open to a return. Let’s just see if that return will happen for WWE.
Ariel Helwani was a guest on The Alex Fuez Show when he gave his take on the current CM Punk situation. He used Bret Hart as a measuring stick because if The Hitman could come back to WWE after the Montreal Screwjob and Owen Hart’s tragic death then anything’s possible with Punk.
“I think Triple H was being honest. I think history shows that they’re always open for business. They’ve had issues with multiple people in the past and they eventually all for the most part come back. Once Bret Hart came back after what happened between him and Vince McMahon and of course his brother, I mean nothing would surprise me.”
“I never thought that [Bret Hart] would make amends and be back on WWE television. I don’t have further insight into that. I know that Punk is enjoying not being a wrestler. I know that he’s enjoying acting and trying out other things. I know he has a lot of other passions and it quite frankly probably gets annoying sometimes, but people do keep bringing up the pro wrestling past.”
“I did think it was interesting considering their recent history that Triple H said that and at some point down the line like I said with Bret, if that happened it wouldn’t surprise me if Punk or anyone they’re at odds with will come back.”
WWE also has a ton of money to offer anyone that they really want. FOX and Saudi Arabia are supplying them with some very good financial backing so if they want CM Punk back it’s not out of the question that it could happen.
Punk did say that WWE would have to offer him a pretty big bag to come back.
