Finn Balor made his big return to action after a short WWE hiatus following SummerSlam. He is now back in NXT and appears to be gunning for Adam Cole’s top spot as NXT Champion.

Adam Cole has a couple of challengers, but it’s hard to not see the longest-reigning NXT Champion in history as a top contender. Finn Balor might have held the title the longest, but he’s not the current champion.

Balor will return to action this weekend during NXT’s upcoming house show loop. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the first-ever WWE Universal Champion will be working the headliner spot on those dates as well.

Balor will be the headliner this coming week when NXT tours the Pacific Northwest from 10/17 to 10/20 with shows in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver and Kelowna, BC

WWE is certainly paying a lot more for Finn Balor than they are for anyone else on the NXT roster. He didn’t take a pay cut to make a jump to NXT. That being said, it makes total sense that WWE will use Balor as much as they can in the biggest spot possible.
