The man formerly known as Chad Gable has officially been drafted over to Friday Night SmackDown, as he attempts to re-build some of the momentum that he recently lost due to his bizarre name change.
Chad, now known as Shorty Gable, has had to overcome a lot of obstacles in his professional career – with the latest being this odd nickname that, for some reason, WWE can’t help but find absolutely hilarious.
Gable seems to be pretty happy about the idea of jumping over to team blue on a permanent basis, but that hasn’t stopped the fans voicing their outrage on social media over this name controversy.
Just a few short weeks ago Chad was on the verge of winning the King of the Ring tournament, and now, all hope for him as a rising star in the company seems to have evaporated in the blink of an eye – in favour of King Corbin getting yet another push.
Gable is still young and is capable of doing some big things in the company regardless of this latest setback, but WWE needs to move on from the name experiment as quickly as possible. SmackDown should serve as the land of opportunity for this guy and right now, we’re worried that isn’t going to be the case.
WWE has many issues that it needs to resolve if they want to avoid slipping further and further towards mediocrity, but they don’t appear to be all too interested in making those changes.
