Tony Khan is President of AEW so he would know about any big direction that the company might be taking. One thing they aren’t doing just yet is dipping their toes into the controversial subject of intergender wrestling.
While speaking in the media scrum after AEW: Dynamite, Tony Khan was asked about Kenny Omega running in and pushing Nyla Rose after her loss to Riho. Rose was about to demolish Omega’s friend and he saved her, but that shouldn’t be taken as a sign that Omega will be wrestling Nyla Rose any time soon.
“That was not what that was. It wasn’t supposed to be set up like that. It was more like a big moment for his protege Riho. Kenny’s very involved in the women’s division and then for that to happen, that wasn’t what was supposed to happen. That’s why he was going in and clearing it up.”
We previously reported that Tony Khan said that intergender wrestling wouldn’t be a part of AEW.
The AEW women’s division will have plenty of room for rivalries within their own roster right now. So, All Elite Wrestling has not changed their stance on intergender wrestling.
