Last night’s debut episode of All Elite Wrestling on TNT certainly caused a stir, with plenty of talking points being in play. One of the biggest took place at the end of the evening as Jake Hager, formerly known as Jack Swagger, made his debut for AEW.
It’s another notable former WWE name for AEW to bring into the mix, and after the immediate impact he was able to make, it’s safe to say that a lot of people are going to be keeping track of his time with the company.
The man himself was able to reflect on his appearance last night, which saw him trend on social media.
Hager has made a name for himself over in mixed martial arts over the course of the last year or so, picking up a few wins with Bellator. Now, though, he’s ready to juggle those responsibilities with a revived pro wrestling career.
Jake never really said goodbye to his time in wrestling, but he certainly hadn’t committed to it like he is now. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of a schedule he keeps, and how AEW decides to promote him whenever he actually does fight.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Hager is his untapped potential, given that many fans once believed he could’ve gone on to do some big things with WWE. While he did become World Heavyweight Champion there was always another level for him to reach, and we could begin to see that.
