AEW will be presenting Dynamite at the same time that NXT will air on the USA Network. This new pro wrestling war is getting serious and it’s only likely to get more intense from this point on.
While speaking to Wrestling Inc, Joey Janela commented that he hasn’t watched NXT in two years. He said the product is stale, but they do put on great Saturday shows.
The Bad Boy did watch the USA Network premiere, but he only really caught it so he could see Lio Rush.
“I think it’s gonna be competitive. I don’t think it’s a war per se yet. I watched the [NXT] premiere a few weeks ago and it was okay. I don’t watch NXT and haven’t watched it in two years.”
“There were other reasons I wanted to watch it as well *cough cough* Lio Rush who I wanted to see f*cked up or not. But he did great. Besides that it was kinda stale. Their PPVs are spectacular; they’re big Saturday shows are great.”
“I think it’s gonna be competitive and I think NXT knows what they’re doing. But AEW knows what they’re doing as well. So we’ll see what happens.”
Joey Janela is bound to be a focal point of All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite. His undeniable charisma will likely translate to a lot of fans, but if WWE has their way everyone will be tuning in to see what NXT has instead.
We’ll just have to see what the ratings look like tomorrow when they come in, but this is certainly a situation that isn’t going away any time soon.
