Kevin Owens marches to the beat of his own drummer. He has adopted a renegade attitude and now that he’s also using the Stunner as his finisher he seems more like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin than ever.
WWE is on tour right now and swung through Manila for a show. This was the same night that EC3 won the WWE 24/7 Title if only for a moment. Kevin Owens loves performing in front of the crowds who show such passion because WWE doesn’t get to go there very often as he told ABS CBN in Manila.
The former Universal Champion also spoke about the people throughout his career that have tried to change him. He continued on his own path and for KO, it certainly seems to have worked out okay.
“I went a different way, obviously, and it’s been arduous but it’s been very rewarding to be me. I don’t know how many people have tried to change me throughout my career, and it was all good advice, I don’t know if it was me being hard-headed or what, I just thought I was always going to do it my way, and I really did. I’m sure there would have been other ways to do it, but what I just decided to do is not let anybody tell me that I couldn’t, so I guess that would be the one advice I have for someone who doesn’t fit the mold, as you say.”
Kevin Owens is in the middle of a big storyline with Shane McMahon where he has a $25 million wrongful termination lawsuit against WWE. We’ll have to see how that goes, but it was certainly nice of Shane McMahon to allow Kevin Owens the opportunity to make the trip to Manila.
