NXT’s move to the USA Network should see them reach a much wider audience. WWE could very well get behind NXT with their promotional and merchandising machine as well.
During Conversations With The Big Guy, Ryback brought up a very good point. With WWE moving NXT to the USA Network, that will open up a whole new audience to NXT. With that could very well come a lot more merchandise as they are exposed to a wider audience of consumers. Hopefully, that comes with a boost in pay as well.
“It’s great for all the NXT talent getting that exposure, but now I’m curious about whether or not they are going to reconstruct their deals now that they are going to get television time. From a WWE standpoint, they have now taken the developmental territory, which has evolved as the years have gone on, and have turned it into their own brand.”
“When we were down in Florida Championship Wrestling, we didn’t have a lot of what these guys have now and pay structure is also different. These guys have merchandise and things of that nature. Now that they are on television, they are now going to be able to do their actions figure selling better and being able to market their talent better now that they do with Raw and SmackDown.”
NXT Superstars could received a bump in pay, but WWE is certainly going to be making more money on the deal. It will be interesting to see if WWE tries to move more NXT merchandise as we see them try and place more importance on NXT as WWE’s legitimate third brand.
