Last night on SmackDown Live, Buddy Murphy took a big step towards becoming a main event player in WWE as he was able to defeat Daniel Bryan in one of the biggest upsets of the year in WWE so far.

Fans had been wondering for weeks and weeks when they were going to see Murphy break out and shine like the star we all know him to be, and against both Bryan and Roman Reigns, it’s safe to say he’s done just that.

There’s always the possibility of Bryan getting the win back later down the line, but for the time being, fans and fellow wrestlers alike have been praising the former NXT star.

When it comes to getting the seal of approval from a WWE Hall of Famer, we’d argue that they don’t come much more validating than Mick Foley.

The Hardcore Legend has been there and done it all over the years in professional wrestling, and we think it’s fairly obvious that he knows a star in the making when he sees one.

The next step for Murphy is unknown at this point, but don’t be surprised if we continue to see the praise coming thick and fast for this absolutely remarkable athlete.

If nothing else, last night can serve as one of the pinnacles of his in-ring career as he continues to fly the flag for Australia.

Who knows, maybe he’ll even replicate Mick and become a world champion one day – be it on SmackDown Live or RAW.
