Cain Velasquez really seemed to enjoy himself during his pro wrestling debut at TripleMania. Now we will have to see when he wrestles next.
Dave Meltzer commented about Cain Velasquez during Wrestling Observer Radio. He said that AAA is tentatively planning for Cain to wrestle at their NYC and LA shows coming up and he will have some very serious opponents which could make him look very good.
“The belief is that Cain Velasquez will be on both of those shows and he’ll be in six-man tags on both shows. There are different names that have been talked about. Killer Kross being one of them — Harry Smith being one of them. It’s been talked about him being his rival which is an interesting one because I think maybe they feel that he’s big and that’s good and he’s technically a good wrestler so he can help carry him through.”
“I was actually out with Smith last night and he didn’t even know that so obviously, this deal is just being talked about, but it’s not even in the stage of whatever. I’m sure or I’m reasonably certain it will be suggested to him tomorrow because he’s at that lucha expo in San Diego and that’s probably where the idea will be broached.”
Cain Velasquez really impressed a lot of people with his pro wrestling debut and it seemed to catch enough attention. He reportedly has two more matches for AAA, but you really never know if WWE could just be waiting in line to offer him something very lucrative in just a few months.
