WWE is obviously paying attention to AEW and they are seeking out a big way to split pro wrestling fans right down the middle.

Now the company might have an even better idea. Because although FS1 might have been in consideration for NXT’s new home, the USA Network is an even better option.

Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is heavily thinking about moving NXT to USA Network. This would be a live two hour Wednesday night show to directly compete with AEW on TNT.

“So it went from FS1 to FS1 or USA to maybe USA Wednesday 8:00 PM EST to 10:00 PM EST still. The word that I heard is that they’re trying to get the jump which means it would start before October 2nd whereas before I think it was starting on October 2nd and FS1 was going to be the problem with the Big East Basketball. I don’t know what USA schedule’s like. So it’s all in play, but yeah I mean we expect that announcement real soon.”

It was noted that USA Network is a different dynamic for NXT than FS1 would be. USA Network is in more homes, but FS1 is more of a sports-centered channel and WWE would also have the assistance of Fox’s promotion.

This could be very interesting to see what WWE ends up doing, but it looks like they’re going to go directly at AEW in this regard. So we’ll be looking at a Wednesday Night War for real between USA Network and TNT once again if this deal goes through.
