WWE has a lot of competition and it seems like even more pro wrestling companies are wanting to hold events in Madison Square Garden. This includes AAA who booked an event on September 15th.
This AAA event has been having some big issues when it comes to selling tickets. Not only do they have competition from WWE because Clash Of Champions is on the same night, but it seems like AAA doesn’t have the star power needed to sell out MSG.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that AAA will have a show on September 15th in New York, but they might not keep it at Madison Square Garden.
“There will be a show in New York on that day. What it will entail is still up in the air at this point.”
“There’s all kinds of issues going on, it’s possible the show’s not in Madison Square Garden. Yes, it’s possible. It’s gonna be New York, I mean it could be in the Hulu Theater, it could be in Madison Square Garden. It could be in the Hulu Theater when you think about it because they don’t have enough tickets sold to fill the Hulu Theater, so it might as well go there. It makes the most sense to do that.”
There is also a huge issue with getting visas. AAA applied for 40 visas months ago, but they haven’t been granted yet. After all, it used to be much easier for Mexicans to get visas than it is now.
We’ll have to see what AAA decides to do, but they might want to make a decision in that regard rather quickly. Because they are certainly running short on time as September 15th keeps creeping up on them.
