WWE ‘Desperate’ To Get Seth Rollins Over As Top Babyface

Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title once again. This was a big moment to close out Summerslam, but how fans react in the weeks to come will be the real determining factor to see whether it worked to put him over.

“They’re just desperate to have Seth as the top babyface on this show,” Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio as the subject was brought up about Seth Rollins current position in the company.

Not only did Rollins open and close RAW this week, but “Stone Cold” Steve Austin also put him over in a big way. The fact that Austin put over Rollins wasn’t that big of a deal, but what was noticeable is that they kept bringing attention to what The Rattlesnake said during commentary.

We’ll have to wait and see whether WWE will finally create a top babyface in Seth Rollins that fans will gravitate toward. Giving him the Universal Title was a good start, let’s just see where they go from here. Because at this point, the field seems to be quite open in regards to his next challenger.
