WWE’s Summerslam event is this Sunday and one match that the company was building toward was supposed to feature Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan. It turns out that they just didn’t have enough time to make that one come together.
PW Insider reports that due to the fact that they didn’t get to reach a conclusion that Daniel Bryan was behind the attacks on Reigns, WWE is now dropping their match from the biggest party of the Summer.
Originally, the Summerslam card was to have featured Roman Reigns against Daniel Bryan, but the word making the rounds at TV last night was that the bout will likely be dropped in order to let the current storyline play out.
The blame for the recent attacks on Roman Reigns was seemingly placed on Rowan at the conclusion of SmackDown Live this week. It is reported that this direction is not 100% set in stone. After all, Daniel Bryan said that Rowan had nothing to do with it and he seemed pretty adamant about it too.
As we previously reported, Reigns and Bryan were slated to continue feuding past Summerslam. Therefore, it seems as though their storyline will continue on and possibly find an ending at another pay-per-view down the line.
This is very interesting and quite unexpected that they will not have Bryan or Reigns featured on the Summerslam card. However, it could also be an indication that long-term booking isn’t what it used to be in WWE.
