WWE Makes Big Change To Summerslam Kickoff Show

Summerslam is going to be a very long event as we have previously reported. The Toronto show could last up to six hours, but apparently, even more of that time will be devoted to the main show.

WWE is currently advertising the start time for the Summerslam kickoff show as 6:00 PM EST. Since the Summerslam main show will start at 7:00 PM EST, then that means the kickoff show is going to be one hour shorter than usual.

Smaller pay-per-view events usually get one hour kickoff shows, but the Big 4 shows like WrestleMania, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and Summerslam have historically received double the time to hype the event.

Since the kickoff show is apparently only an hour long now then that means it will likely contain fewer matches. This is good news for Superstars because it means that even more of them will get to perform on the main show.
