How Long Trish Stratus vs Charlotte Flair Has Been In The Works

Trish Stratus is returning to the ring at Summerslam. She will have a match against Charlotte Flair which could be one of the biggest moments in The Queen’s career, but it didn’t all happen at once.

Brad Shepard reports that this match has actually been talked about since the Evolution pay-per-view in October last year. Therefore, this was something that WWE wanted for a while, it just took some patience.

According to a source in #WWE, Trish Stratus and Charlotte Flair have discussed working together since WWE Evolution last year.

It takes a lot of planning to make a match like this come to fruition. While there are a lot of opponents that fans would love to see Trish Stratus square off against as well such as Alexa Bliss and Mandy Rose, it looks like her first singles match since her initial WWE departure will be against Charlotte Flair.

This is a very smart move on WWE’s part seeing how over Trish Stratus is bound to be in Toronto. It also makes us wonder what kind of finish they will come up as WWE carries on after what we can only assume will be a one-time return to the ring for Trish Stratus.
