Drake Maverick Confirms That He Is Challenging Mike Kanellis To A Match

While a lot of fans have been excited by the antics of 205 Live general manager Drake Maverick in recent months, it’s worth remembering that he is also capable of putting on a solid match inside the squared circle.

We haven’t really been able to see that since he joined WWE, but now, it appears as if Rockstar Spud fans are going to get what they’ve wanted for quite some time in the wake of what happened on 205 Live this week.

Drake set his sights firmly on Mike Kanellis and, after attacking him, Drake confirmed that Mike will indeed be able to get a shot at the Cruiserweight Championship – but only if he’s able to get through the GM.

The dynamic of Maverick’s on screen character is certainly interesting, because on one hand he’s a comedy act going after the 24/7 Championship. On the other hand, he’s doing a great job of hyping up this potential showdown with one of the best stars on 205 Live today.

You would’ve thought that a match of this nature could actually be saved for SummerSlam, because Maverick is pretty over with the crowd at this point. With that being said, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them book it for an episode of 205 Live in order to try and bring in some more casual viewers.

One way or another, though, it feels like we’re going to get a definitive conclusion to this rivalry – and we can’t wait to see how the match itself unfolds between these two.
