ROH is trying everything they can to regain attention for the promotion. Their attendance levels are incredibly low and they really need to keep building stars to help carry them through this very slow point in the company’s history. Not everything they try is going to work though.
Ring Of Honor and NJPW had a big Madison Square Garden event where Enzo Amore and Big Cass jumped the rail and caused a bit of a scene. NJPW wasn’t happy about this at all because they were not informed of this “invasion” beforehand. After that, Enzo and Cass haven’t been seen on ROH television since.
Dave Meltzer was asked about this on Wrestling Observer Radio where he said that ROH just “cut their losses” after the angle was met with a ton of criticism across the board.
“It was an idea. I don’t think the idea worked very well and they cut their losses.
Perhaps NZO and Caz XL could do some good for ROH to bring eyes to the product, but it might also cause ROH to lose the fans that they have left after The Elite took off.
Obviously, they didn’t think it was worth the risk so it’s probably a very safe bet that Enzo Amore and Big Cass won’t be seen in an ROH ring (or around one) for a very long time if they are ever invited back at all.
