Mike and Maria Kanellis are in an interesting situation right now. Because Mike walked out of 205 Live in the storyline, but then they both showed up on RAW the next week to take part in a featured angle.

Maria Kanellis announcing that she was pregnant was a bit of a surprise, but it was nothing compared to the scathing promo on her husband that followed. This led Mike Jonson to speculate on PW Insider Elite audio that this could mean that Maria will remain on television while pregnant to carry on with the angle.

Mike Johnson also commented on the reputation that Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis have backstage. However, it should be noted that Maria reportedly does a “lion’s share” of the talking.

“Any of my engagement with then has always been positive, they also had a reputation within Ring Of Honor and Impact for being a little hard to work with at times.”

“Well, she was the vocal one. She handled the lion’s share of the business there. There are people in Impact to this day who still often comment on what a pain in the butt they were at times and at one point they had allegedly verbally agreed to remain with the company and were going to get their deals and when they got their deals they said, ‘Yeah we’ve decided to go elsewhere and went to WWE.”

Dave Scherer then spoke up talking about the irony of Mike taking her last name when coming to WWE because that sums up their relationship well.

It was said that you can never burn a bridge 100% in pro wrestling, but the Kanellises might have done a pretty good job setting a fire to that walkway with both Impact Wrestling and ROH.

This adds even more interest to the report that WWE isn’t thrilled about the timing of Maria Kanellis’ pregnancy as it coincided with her signing a new five-year contract worth $250,000 a year.
