The world of NXT is an ever evolving place, and a lot of fans and wrestlers alike would probably argue that it needs to be in order to keep developing talent.

NXT is full of talent that are both home grown by WWE and have made a name for themselves already elsewhere, and that’s a fun mix to have. Of course, the kind of tinkering that goes on behind the scenes means that we often see a lot of changes.

One of the most popular kinds of changes seems to be the name of any given superstar which, as you can probably imagine, is a pretty key component in their run with the company.

The latest superstar to experience this is the man formerly known as Brennan Williams, who now goes by the tagline of Dio Maddin.

Williams officially signed with NXT back in August 2016, having taken part in a tryout six months prior. Before his time in professional wrestling ‘Dio’ was a professional football player, having been signed to the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots. Unfortunately, due to a string of injuries, he wasn’t really able to make much of an impact.

He hasn’t really been able to do much in terms of making an impact in NXT either, but after three years of developing his game, it seems as if they’re going to start putting some more focus into him and what he’s about.

Now, it’s up to him to see whether or not he can take the ball and run with it.
