Jon Moxley is working for both AEW and NJPW, but there is a limit of how much he’s allowed to work in the United States because he’s exclusively All Elite in the U.S. Therefore, he won’t be appearing for NJPW at the Dallas G1 show.
The opening day G1 event in Dallas is an A Block event, but don’t expect to see Moxley appear at the show at all. As Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that won’t be happening due to his deal with All Elite Wrestling.
“Jon Moxley’s deal is AEW has his rights in the United States. He’s free to work New Japan when it doesn’t conflict with AEW. He’s allowed to be in the G1, it’s fine — but not U.S. shows. AEW didn’t allow for that because that’s basically the situation, they’ve got his U.S. rights.”
“So he’s never been booked for Dallas. He’s never been announced for Dallas. I think there was an assumption because everyone in the G1 works every single date they work tag matches underneath on the shows they’re not on, but this is the exception to the rule because it’s the United States show.”
NJPW sent out a press release stating that Moxley will not be at the G1 press conference in Dallas, nor will he be appearing at the Dallas event. This is also why Moxley is in the B Block, because the A Block is the portion of the tournament happening in Dallas on July 6th.
Tony Khan confirmed that Mox would be allowed to work for certain indie companies and international dates. However, he also stated that Moxley would be mostly an AEW guy.
