Chris Jericho pulled out of Fyter Fest because he was upset about AEW making it a free event, however, that isn’t the whole story.

Fyter Fest is a parody of Fyre Fest which was a festival that was called off because of a disaster in planning, greed, and nothing working right. They were supposed to have Blink 182 performing at Fyre Fest, but they pulled out on the day before the event was set to take place. It’s a good thing they did pull out too or they would have been stuck with the rest of the people who showed up to the Bahamas.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that since Fyter Fest is a parody of Fyre Fest, Chris Jericho pulled out like Blink 182.

In reality, Y2J was never booked to be at the show in the first place although he was advertised as appearing, but the promotion has never been based around Jericho’s participation.

Therefore, Chris Jericho got to play out his heel character even more and get some heat on the event. He also drew attention to the fact that Fyter Fest will be a free show. So hopefully, it will work out much better that Fyre Fest ever did.
