Jon Moxley is now with NJPW as well as AEW, but the only matches he’s wrestled since his WWE departure so far has been with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Mox is also a part of the G1 Climax Tournament, but it doesn’t seem to be doing a ton of help in regards to moving tickets in the United States.

NJPW has a big G1 event in Dallas, Texas on July 6th at the American Airlines Arena. Although the opening of this tournament in America is historic for NJPW, it doesn’t seem like they’ve been able to draw a ton of interest.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that since Jon Moxley was announced for the upcoming NJPW event in Dallas, it hasn’t done much to move the needle in terms of ticket sales at all.

“Moxley’s on the show and I have heard nothing about ticket sales surging since Moxley’s on the show and believe me if they did I’m pretty darn sure I would hear about it immediately. So I don’t know Dallas is the right market.”

Jon Moxley’s interview after his Dominion match might have gone viral in a big way, but that apparently didn’t translate into ticket sales.

Hopefully, Jon Moxley will be able to draw more interest for New Japan, but you never know. He is one man and although NJPW also has other incredibly talented stars, they might have lost that “cool factor” to AEW.
