Update: This report has been refuted by a source who reached out to Ringside News.

RAW included an arm wrestling segment last week on the show between Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman. This was done to build toward their WWE Super ShowDown match, but there might have been another reason why WWE decided to do this.

Fightful reports that WWE hired Jay Cabrera about “a week and a half ago.” He was the one who pitched the arm wrestling segment on RAW and he should know a thing or two about arm wrestling too. Because it fits in with his previous job history.

We’re told [Cabrera] actually pitched the arm wrestling idea for Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley, and has been involved with the World Arm Wrestling League as a Senior Producer, as well as Engage Marketing.

Cabrera has been involved in the World Arm Wrestling League where he was a Senior Producer. Therefore, he pitched what he knew and this was obviously accepted by Vince McMahon.

The arm wrestling segment didn’t do all that much to build toward Strowman vs Lashley in Jeddah, but it seemed to do the trick last week to get something on the show for the two of them to do. It’s been a while since WWE held an arm wrestling angle, but now you never know if this could become a new go-to for the company like how they use contract signings in so many feuds.
