By now many fans will be aware of the fact that Alexa Bliss will be challenging Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the upcoming Stomping Grounds pay per view. As a result of this development, some folks aren’t all too happy about Bliss once again being thrust into the title picture.
One such individual is Carmella. The Princess of Staten Island and Little Miss Bliss actually had similar rises up through the ranks together, dating all the way back to the brand split in 2016.
Now, though, Carmella isn’t willing to just sit back and watch as Alexa continues to earn a series of high level opportunities.
It still seems like Bayley is going to be the one to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the event, but perhaps Carmella, and other fans, are more interested in seeing new and unique challengers.
Bliss’ trajectory in the last year or so has certainly been strange, mainly due to her injury issues. Fans have long since wondered whether or not she’d be able to have another long and extended run as an in-ring performer, but it seems like she’s starting to get back to full fitness.
Carmella has her own storylines to deal with right now, with many believing that she will eventually become the sole holder of the 24/7 Championship. That might not be the kind of creative direction a lot of people want to see for her, but at the very least, she’ll be doing something with substance which is more than most superstars can say.
