Johnny Gargano is the current NXT Champion, but he has been dealing with an injury as of late that has taken him out of action. This is not a good thing for the champion, but hopefully, he will be okay.

Gargano has been working NXT live events recently, but he hasn’t been wrestling. Instead, Gargano has worked as a producer for some of those Florida live events.

It is noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Gargano is suffering from a knee injury which is why he hasn’t been wrestling. Johnny Wrestling likely suffered this injury in March since his last match was on March 8th at an NXT house show.

It is said that “the injury is apparently okay now” and it expected that he will be back in action for the June 1st NXT TakeOver: XXV event where he is slated to take on Adam Cole.

Hopefully, Gargano was given enough time for his injury to properly heal because it would be a very unfortunate for two deserving NXT Champions (and former Team DIY members) to drop the NXT Title in a row.
