WWE’s Wild Card Rule was a very interesting idea that eliminated the issue of having a brand extension, but it didn’t kill it either. This was a loophole in a manner of speaking that Vince McMahon devised on the day of RAW that day.
There could already be some exceptions to this Wild Card Rule. In fact, it started with an exception. Because McMahon originally said three Superstars could make the jump and then Lars Sullivan convinced him to make it four. Now WWE could even add more.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE’s Wild Card Rule already has some fatal flaws in it which was evident in its first week.
It should be noted that last week on Smackdown, Vince had said only four guys from Raw would be allowed on the show. Miz was the fifth guy which could have been made into a storyline, but the entire four guys stuff was never addressed at all.
It was further noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Usos counted as one person this week. So WWE could essentially have eight people jump ship to the other show as long as they are “established tag teams.”
Math might be hard, but WWE math is getting to be impossible to do on a Scott Steiner level.
