Mojo Rawley spent weeks hyping himself up in the mirror on Raw, but nothing came of it for a while. He had new blue veins on his face, but that was about it.
Finally, Rawley debuted his new character, but it took a very long time to see any results from those backstage promos. It turns out that Vince McMahon was the reason behind this as he is most things on WWE television.
Wade Keller had someone in the know call into PW Torch‘s Raw Recap show where they explained Vince McMahon’s process and how it is frustrating a lot of people backstage. One of the examples given of McMahon simply losing direction on someone was Mojo Rawley.
It was said that ideas “never pan out” as they are initially planned in WWE. Writers will create ideas for segments and pushes, but then Vince McMahon will lose interest “in a week or two.”
Mojo Rawley was mentioned as a perfect example of this as he was featured on Raw for a few weeks and then sort of disappeared before eventually making his in-ring debut with the new gimmick.
Now that Mojo Rawley’s new persona has finally debuted only time will tell what kind of direction Vince McMahon will be able to figure out for him.
