The WWE Superstar Shake-Up does not have the same appeal as the WWE Draft used to. Now Superstars will just show up on different shows for weeks and suddenly they’ve switched rosters. Now that might change.
We previously reported that someone was rumored to have shown Vince McMahon footage of how the NFL does their draft. It is a much bigger deal than players just walking out on stage with a different hat on.
It looks like WWE could be gearing up for something different next time around as Joe Peisich noted on Barnburner Radio. We could also expect a few more names to switch brands as WWE’s new Fox deal approaches. So by this time next year the WWE roster will have been shaken up twice over.
“WWE they are going to do another Superstar Shake-Up just prior to the WWE being on Fox. So Raw I think the season premiere in September sort of a small shake-up there, but look at it next year a major shake-up and I don’t think it’s going to be called the Superstar Shake-Up. I think it’s gonna be called the WWE Draft. Look for that to happen annually.”
Only time will tell what WWE decides to do. After all, all of those decisions are made by Vince McMahon and he could very well change his mind about how he wants to approach anything multiple times before an event.
It does present an interesting idea that WWE will want to give themselves a little extra padding on their roster to ensure that SmackDown Live on Fox draws the largest numbers possible.
