WWE superstar Jeff Hardy has provided fans with an update to fans after he underwent surgery on his recently injured knee.
The Charismatic Enigma was forced to surrender the SmackDown Tag Titles alongside his brother Matt on SmackDown Live, as it was revealed that he’d be going under the knife in order to repair his knee. In storyline WWE explained the injury by stating that it came as a result of Lars Sullivan’s attack, when in reality, it happened on a house show.
It seems as if this is now going to set up some kind of feud between Matt and Lars, as he attempts to avenge his fallen brother.
In the brief clip Jeff yawned, being notably tired from the surgery, and simply stated “Let the healing begin” – with his reported time on the shelf being six to nine months. He also thanked WWE and Andrews Sports Medicine, which would seem to indicate that it was a success and everything went smoothly.
Jeff isn’t exactly immune to sustaining injuries and has collected up quite a few of them over the years, but given his age, you have to wonder just how much longer he’s going to put himself through this kind of schedule.
His legacy in WWE has been secure for quite some time now, and while fans would’ve liked to see him go after a world title one more time, he’s got at least six months of recovery time ahead of him before he can even think about getting back into the ring.
Jeff is undoubtedly one of the best high-flyers of all time, and while he has certainly had his fair share of issues and setbacks throughout his career, the way in which he’s been able to bounce back is a testament to the kind of heart and character that he has.
