Why Ricochet Lost On WWE RAW This Week

Ricochet was in a team with Aleister Black, but then the former NXT Champion needed to be moved to SmackDown because his wife Zelina Vega was switched over alongside Andrade. Then The One And Only suffered his first loss on RAW.

People love Ricochet. If that’s not evident then just look at how his co-workers turned out to help his family in a time of tragedy. However, it didn’t help Ricochet secure a win on RAW.

Dave Meltzer reports that there was a directive from Vince McMahon to let Ricochet and Aleister Black get a strong push. They were ordered to not lose any matches, however, that obviously changed when the team was broken up.

Ricochet lost on RAW this week to Robert Roode and plenty of fans were upset to see this happen in such a fashion. It turns out that Vince McMahon must have changed his own mind about this because the call to beat Ricochet was Vince’s alone.

It is also said that Vince McMahon made the decision to beat Ricochet on the day of the show. Then again, they had to re-write a ton and only got the script finalized minutes before going live on the USA Network.

We will have to wait and see if Ricochet will get his win back. It might be very interesting to watch The One And Only at this point because as popular and amazing as he is in the ring, it might not help his size and how Vince McMahon views him.
