Travel Problem With Official Caused Issues For WWE This Weekend

WWE referees have a lot of responsibility, but they need to be able to make the events in order to do their jobs. This was apparently an issue for one senior referee this weekend.

As we previously reported a lot of referees and production staff are on edge right now because they don’t want to get caught doing the wrong thing.

Sean Sapp reported on Fightful Select Audio update that the WrestleMania main event referee Rod Zapata actually missed a flight this weekend which created a very long night for another WWE official.

“Speaking of Rod [Zapata] he missed a flight I think, pretty sure he missed a flight and Chad Patton had to referee an entire show this weekend.”

Rod Zapata was fined for messing up the count in the WrestleMania main event. There is no word on if another fine will be issued for missing the event this weekend because we don’t know any more specifics other than the fact that he missed the event.
