It’s getting progressively harder and harder not to root for Velveteen Dream down in NXT, as his North American Championship run continues.
Dream has been one of the stand-out performers down in developmental for quite some time now, and it seems as if that’s only going to continue as we look ahead to his immediate future. Many fans want to see him get called up to the main roster, but given his age, it doesn’t seem like there’s much of a reason to do so right now.
Velveteen was able to defeat Buddy Murphy last night and successfully defend his belt in the process, with the man himself having some thoughts on the victory.
The rise of Buddy Murphy in the last year or so has been really fun to watch, mainly because fans had been pleading with WWE to do something with him for quite some time. Now, in the present day, it’s quite clear to see that he belongs at a high level in this company.
Murphy is set to begin his own main roster journey after seemingly finishing up on 205 Live, and in truth, that really does seem like the best course of action for him and his career.
If he can continue to build up the personality side of his game to go alongside what he’s able to do physically in the ring, then he could wind up having an incredibly successful tenure with WWE.
It’s all down to him, and of course, down to how he winds up being booked.
