You never know who you can expect to see in NXT. A lot of current WWE Superstars used to call NXT home and plenty of them love to come back and visit the WWE Performance Center any time they can. One former NXT Superstar showed up at tonight’s television taping and he ended up with a big title opportunity.

Velveteen Dream defeated Matt Riddle at NXT TakeOver: New York to retain the NXT North American Title and hand The King Of Bros his first loss in NXT. Then Dream ended up with some big competition when he arrived at Full Sail Arena a few nights later.
Buddy Murphy lost the WWE Cruiserweight Title during the WrestleMania kickoff show, but he was more than ready to take another title. Murphy showed up at the television tapings to challenge Velveteen Dream for his gold.
We won’t spoil the ending here, you can click on the results to see that because we don’t want to go all-out with spoilers just in case some people want some element of surprise. The match was said to be a great one though.
