Pete Dunne lost the WWE United Kingdom Championship to WALTER at NXT TakeOver: New York. This ended an astonishing 685 day reign as champion for Dunne. The NXT UK roster would have a huge hole if Pete Dunne left, but it looks like he has done all he can on that brand.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he has heard a rumor that Pete Dunne is going to be making his main roster debut during next week’s Superstar Shake-Up. However you never know for sure that anything is going to happen in WWE until it takes place with Vince McMahon’s love of changing plans.

“I’ve heard the rumor, but I don’t know for sure.”

We will know in a week what WWE decides to do with the Bruiserweight. If he stays in NXT UK after his outstanding run as WWE United Kingdom Champion it might only provide an opportunity for him to flounder.

Hopefully, if WWE calls Dunne up they will know that they need to strap a rocket to his back soon.
