WrestleMania 35 just ended and next year’s event will be in Tampa. We don’t even know where WrestleMania 37 will be, but now we have a very good clue.
The Los Angeles Times reports that a new football stadium currently under construction is vying to host the show of shows in 2021. This new stadium in Inglewood, California is already said to be a front runner to house WrestleMania 37 as well.
The stadium has a working name of Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District at Hollywood Park. That is a mouthful so it will be shortened to LASED to save time and words. It is slated to open up in 2020.
The new venue is set to house the LA Rams and Chargers NFL teams and LA wants to use WrestleMania 37 as a test run to possibly host Super Bowl LVI in 2022.
President of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission Kathy Schloessman said of the endeavor:
“We know the power of the WWE brand. They have hosted several events here in the past such as SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Raw and SmackDown and we have seen the tremendous impact these events have in the community, both economically and socially. Given our focus on attracting major sporting and entertainment events to Los Angeles, WrestleMania is at the top of our list of events we want here.”
Plenty of cities are going to put in bids to host WrestleMania 37, but a brand new stadium in LA certainly has to catch WWE’s eye. After all, being in Los Angeles would give them plenty of opportunities for celebrities to attend the event which is always great for exposure.
The last time LA hosted the show of shows was WrestleMania 21 when WrestleMania went Hollywood at the Staples Center.
