The Revival are walking into WrestleMania as RAW Tag Team Champions. They will defend those titles against Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins in a match where a lot of fans are expecting to see Hawkins’ legendary losing streak broken.
The Top Guys have made no secret about their unhappiness in WWE. They asked for their release from the company, and although they might like to downplay it, Dash and Dawson don’t seem to be getting any lighter on the company.
While speaking to Fox Sports Australia, Dash Wilder said of tag team wrestling in WWE: “It’s not a ‘bit’ of a lost art. It’s become Atlantis”
Scott Dawson added that he blames WWE for the fact that tag team wrestling is a lost art. Because they have put so much emphasis on becoming a singles Superstar where a tag team wrestler is thought as lesser.
“This is going to sound terrible, but I kind of blame our company for that.”
“Because the individual stars made so much money, so people had that goal in mind to be an individual star here. And for us we knew that to make the most money, we needed to be a tag team, we needed to be a unit. Collectively we’re individuals but mentally we’re one.”
We will have to wait and see if these remarks might come back to be something that Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson will regret later. Because Vince McMahon always has the ability to break them up because they are still contractually obligated to remain in WWE for quite a while.
