Tommaso Ciampa has been through quite an extensive amount of surgeries in the past few years. He went through three major surgeries in a twelve-week span and spoke about it quite openly during a recent social media post. Now he seems focused to prove everyone wrong once again.
Ciampa revealed his true feelings about losing his NXT TakeOver: New York title match before he even had a chance to compete. It has to be frustrating, but Ciampa has been in this position before only to excel to a very high level.
“In May of 2017 they told me that no one has ever had 3 major surgeries in a 12 week span and returned at a competitive level.
I returned to the most successful run of my career.
This week I should be preparing to walk into the main even of TakeOver: New York on WrestleMania weekend as the NXT Champion. This match meant more to me than anyone will ever understand.
The opportunity was taken away from me.
In March 2019 they told me that if I return then I will be on borrowed time.
To be continued…
Hopefully, WWE will be able to use Tommaso Ciampa once he is ready for a return. The latest we have heard is that Ciampa could be out of action for up to a year. This might set up a grand return at next year’s WrestleMania event, but you really never know what can happen in WWE.
As for right now, Ciampa certainly feels a certain way about not being in the NXT TakeOver: New York main event and that is understandable. He defied the odds before, so now he will have to look at doing it once again once he crosses this latest bump in the road.
