WWE made a bold choice by placing Baron Corbin against Kurt Angle in his farewell match. We will just have to wait and see if the public backlash will change Vince McMahon’s mind, but the backstage pressure didn’t seem to phase him before the announcement was made.

We previously reported that Kurt Angle wanted a high-profile opponent, but he was handed Baron Corbin instead. This was a disappointment, but he still had to go out there and announce Corbin as his opponent and proclaim that it was his idea while thanking the McMahons for letting him pick his own final dance partner.

Rajah reports that not only were some very influential people pulling for John Cena to face Kurt Angle at the show of shows, but the Olympic Hero was one of them.

As of this weekend, Angle vs. Corbin was still the planned match. Kurt and others backstage lobbied for Cena and this is just what I am perceiving, but seems WWE thinks the negative response is great for Corbin. Still 2 weeks left for minds to change.

It will be very interesting if WWE picks a different opponent for Kurt Angle at WrestleMania and how they might go about it if they do decide to make the switch. We will just have to wait and see because there is still time for them to make those changes so everyone will be happy about this one.
